Snap Circuits Example Project: Lamp & Fan in Parallel

For an example of the type of projects you’ll encounter in your Snap Circuits kit, the video below shows the sixth Snap Circuit’s project, Lamp & Fan in Parallel.

In project five, Snap Circuits has you building a circuit in series, showing how a light bulb can be used to indicate when a fan is on, and of course how current flows through a series circuit.

In this sixth project, you use the same light bulb and fan, but configure it as a parallel circuit. This illustrates how current flows through through parallel circuits, and draws attention to the fact that the light’s power is not impacted by the current that the fan is drawing, as it was in project five (the series circuit).

This project is included in all of the four basic Snap Circuit kits, including SC-100, SC-300, Pro SC-500, and Extreme SC 750.
